This is how much knitting I got done over Labor day. The picture really doesn't do this piece justice. I love it. I did skip the 80's length that it is meant to be (can you say "to the knee"?) and I didn't put the bobbles. I think I am going to love this sweater.
I also went to Brentwood on Saturday to the u-pick to get tomatoes to can. No u-pick because of the crop this year. We did score boxes of canning tomatoes for a good price though. We got to pick a few of em. It took all day to can enough for 3 of us to take home.
On a sad note... I did find out this weekend that the shop will be closing its doors and not selling. I have mixed emotions on how I feel about this. On one side I am excited to be moving on to a new adventure. On the other hand I feeling like there is a death in the family. It is my decision and I know that I am doing the right thing for myself but I am very sad about an ending of another part of my life.

Oh, no :( Will miss Yarn! desperately. But I'm glad you're doing what's right for you. But... ouch!
What is this new adventure you are moving on to? Are you free to tell?

I'm SO sad - sad that my own personal stash in a separate building will be gone, sad about not seeing your friendly face whenever I want.
But I know that this is the start of a new and exciting phase for you and Mr. Y, and I congratulate you!

Oh nooooo. I'm so sad, and happy for you, but poor Thing 1, and 2, and 3.
But the store was a lot about you, so I will have to wander off and go somewhere else. I'll stop by very very soon.
You know, Lisa is spot on. I know this is a bitter-sweet decision, but you *are* the 'yarn girl'. No one could have filled your shoes.
Bummer. But as Lisa and Lolly said, Yarn wouldn't be the same without you. Waah. :(
On the bright side, maybe you'll enjoy your knitting even more from now on, since it will no longer be a job. :D
