I had an idea
When Mr Yarn and I were in Washington we had a drink at the hotel we were staying at. It was pineapple infused vodka. The bartender made up batches of it in a jar just like the one above. So, I saw the jar at Sur la Table and got the idea that *I* wanted to make some of this. We ended up not buying the jar but buying the vodka and pineapple. Then I needed the jar. So, what did I do? I dragged Mr. Yarn to Pagano's (the best hardware store ever) and scouted out the exact jar. There was only ONE of them and it was on a high up shelf, but I got it! Sorta weird that it was there in the first place.

Pagano's is the greatest! What sort of drinks do you make with pineapple infused vodka?
Ya drink it straight, toots.
Sounds interesting. You ever taken a watermelon and spiked it with vodka? Yummy...
Just getting the facts straight. I didn't think you guys were into "foufy" drinks I bet that pineapple is pretty good, too, after lending flavor to the vodka...
YAY Paganos! To the rescue again!
And to expand on Erin's comment, There is a snooty patooty bar in Oakland that uses the same jar to infuse vodka w/ watermelon. they make these drinks w/ it that taste like liquid jolly ranchers. I could drink them ALLLLLL day long!
Oh yeah. This is one of our favorite drinks. We take a bottle of Skyy Citrus vodka, put a cut up pineapple in it, and let it sit for 7 days. After that, you can toss that mess over ice and drink it down straight down. It's awesome. Or make a cosmo out of the vodka. Incredible!
DUDE. At least 10 years ago, I had the best drink at a chain pizza joint (of all places), and the key ingredient was - WAIT FOR IT - pineapple-infused vodka. Since then I've occasionally thought I should repeat this feat, but could never find just the right jar, and now (because of Rachael's blog, woo hoo!), I know what to do. Thank you so much! :)
