Another halloween gone. Damn, you would think that every child on the planet came to our door last night. They were all really cute and it was fun giving out candy.
On another note...
Here is the second Birch. This one is going WAY faster than the first one. I must have caught on (about time).

That Frank is darn cute. And Birch is beautiful. We must have had 300 kids last night, and about 100 adults. What do you say to a 30-something woman coming to your door and saying, "Trick or Treat."????
Tell me about it. We had a 60-something doing that. It scared me for real.
We ran out of candy and had to turn out the lights and hide. Silly me... didn't buy out the store.

I was in Alameda for the festivities too. My friend's house got one man (albeit accompanied by children) using the small green composting bucket as his candy collection bucket. Ew.

we missed a lot of the treaters getting home late but I did ask one with a beard what he was and he said - " I don't know yet" , that and the sullen girls with no costume who don't even say trick or treat. Luckily I don't think we got any of the local "ladies of the evening" - I was waiting for that next!
Between a big evening of fun 2 weeks ago with DOE (visualize me as hostess to a variety of high placed people... putting in crazy hours and feeling a bit unappreciated... and the picture becomes a little more clear) and my brother visiting (with his wife and their nearly 2 year old) from Florida last week... I've running around like a crazy woman.
I've missed the group though... and am back tomorrow. :-)

Halloween was fun. My two year old took awhile to get the hang of trick-or-treating (went into the very first person's house, and starting taking off jacket and gloves while watching their TV), but he had a great time. We didn't see any creepy (not the fun kind of creepy) people this year, thank goodness.
I'm glad Halloween is back. The numbers were scarce for a few years after 9/11.
Birch is gorgeous! I'm glad you are speeding along on it now. :)
